MICHEALA MILLER
(she/her)
Micheala Miller is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Strawberry Week.
From Kansas City, MO, she kicked off her non-profit career recruiting volunteers for Big Brothers Big Sisters. In 2016, she started hosting donation parties from her home where friends would gather and bring various health and hygiene items for donation to domestic shelters in the area. In 2018, Micheala collaborated with the local Homeless Period Project Chapter to host a Period Packing Party for the youth enrolled in the mentorship program. This is where her passion for addressing period poverty ignited. Micheala began pursuing her Master's in Public Administration with a Nonprofit Leadership emphasis at University of Missouri - Kansas City, and completed her studies at the end of 2020. Since then, Micheala co-founded a local award-winning nonprofit, Barrier Babes, where she integrated addressing period poverty into its mission of inclusive and unapologetic sex education. Eventually, the mission became too big for one organization, and starting December 2021 Strawberry Week was officially established to provide free resources for menstruators in Kansas and Missouri, to work towards eliminating the stigma surrounding menstrual health and hygiene, and to provide education and awareness on the epidemic known as period poverty.
